Funk Tribu reworks the club hit into a heavyweight anthem, fusing metallic percussion and gritty synths with the original's signature groove
August 28th, 2026 - Fresh from the release of his latest “LIFE” EP, Colombia-born, Berlin, based producer Funk Tribu, has not slowed down. His latest offering is a drum-forward trance fused remix of Boys Noize, TAICHU & Taube’s hit single “Shut It Down”. The track has already been doing the rounds at clubs and festivals across the globe and has been much anticipated by fans far and wide.
The single arrives during a particularly prolific spell for Funk Tribu. The DJ, producer and TRIBE label boss has wasted no time following up his EP with a major remix, adding another standout release to an already busy year. Reflecting on the collaboration, Funk Tribu comments: “It’s a huge honor to remix a Boys Noize track. His career is full of iconic releases that have shaped electronic music and inspired so many of us from the new generation of producers. Getting the chance to put my own perspective on one of his tracks is definitely one of my highlights of 2026, and of my career so far.”
With his latest releases and TRIBE’s output turning heads across the scene, alongside a packed international touring schedule that includes upcoming landmark shows at Pukkelpop, UNVRS, Knockdown Center and EDC Colombia, Funk Tribu is firmly in the midst of a quickfire ascent.
“Shut It Down”, first released in May of this year, brought together three standout names from today’s music scene: dance music royalty Boys Noize, fast rising Argentinian pop artist TAICHU, and emerging Berlin based producer Taube. Carefully curated by Boys Noize himself and released on his own label, the track quickly caught momentum, igniting the crowd at major festivals such as Coachella and Ultra.
Bringing his signature sound and energy to “Shut It Down”, through distorted textures, rolling percussion and sharp synth work, the artist manages to keep the energy of the original intact while injecting it with his signature sound. Leaning into the emotion and euphoria of classic trance while channeling it through the groove, energy and immediacy of contemporary club culture, Funk Tribu keeps a familiar thread running through this remix, while putting his own stamp on “Shut It Down”.
